Question

What constitutes a Failure in a Phishing Simulation campaign?

Answer

Phishing campaigns have failure conditions for users which are based on the type of campaign in use. Below is the list of campaigns and what constitutes a failure.

  • Drive-By campaigns: When a user clicks on a link, they have failed that campaign.
  • Data Entry campaigns:
    • When a user clicks on the submit button, regardless if they entered info into the form, they have failed that campaign.
    • The failure itself is recorded based on the call made when that button is clicked and it does not validate against data in the form
  • Attachment (Classic or Advanced) campaigns: When the user opens the attachment, they have failed that campaign.

Note: Only in Drive-By campaigns does a user fail the campaign if they click on the link. User Clicks are still recorded, and you can use that number for your own reporting and information.
